yeah if i get another compact SUV it will be a Mitsubishi Pujero/ Montero. Those things are tough as nails and perty diferent. They are also VARY under-estimated, there was a group of 4 of em one had a winch and one was a short wheel base (Dodge Raider) and they all ran the Rubicon. Only mods they had were 30 or 31 " tires and 2" lifts. I think they all had factory possi rears. Only breakage the group had was one front CV becouse one of the guys whanted to try to run little sluice.
I would kinda like to try running the Rubicon whith a group of lightly modified Isuzus. All the guys i run whith say you need 40+" tires and V-8s to do any serious wheeling. And of course they just ignore me whan i bring up the Land Rover G4 Challenge and things like that ( I know Isuzu does a thing like that too but i forget the name). And of course i always have to say Isuzus Mitsus and Toyotas have to be better than the domestics becouse untill recently Ford Chevy and Dodge havent even tryed running the Dakar, and all three of the afor mentioned brands have numorouse trophies from that race and other enduro ralleys...

Yeah, I've accually been looking around for a Monty/Raider and have found one down in Phx that has a 5-speed and the V6, I think the V6 is rated @150hp, no indy car but i'll move out of it's own way. Oh and of the group that ran the Rubicon, I believe it was off-roader, Lloyd, and a couple other guys from the Mitsu section of 4x4wire.com. there's an AZ crew that run primarlily Mitsus, there's only 2 members of the group that don't drive Mitsus, me and EricD, he had a lightly modified 91 Trooper. Two guys from the AZ crew have hevily mod'd Mitsu Montero's, both are riding on 35's, have lockers in the rear, and I think one of them also has a locker in the front, pretty sick trucks if you ask me.

those custom cabs are pretty darn cool, friend had one that was lifted and on 35's, was one of the rare ones that had the 22RT(Turbo motor) in it too, pretty cool trucks, not too good for the trail but cool looking none the less

hey boonie i already added you to the wash state users group so now u can see the washington state forum, as far as the yout goes, they come from the factory in japan as a standard cab, short bed toyota, where they get shiped over to a little company down in oregon called custom fabrication manufacturing. they then add about 2 feet to the frame and the fiberglass shell and a bench seat front and rear. i actually almost bought a turbo (22rte) custom cab out in the tri cities area earlier this week. ive only seen a couple of those too. on the trail this truck is unstoppable (almost) it has neverending rear axle flex, atleast more than i have ever seen on a stock toyota, but it dominates any hill climb you toss at it. just ask boonie buster, hes seen me climb the hills up on sultan basin.

you'd be surprized what a Luv can do on the rocks when in the hands of someone who knows what their doing

this is true. i took my truck up near evans creek and it just crawled right up those boulders.

when i had my xj, i would go out and just hit the dirt, rocks, and went just about anywhere i thought my jeep could take me.

since utah has such a veritable cornucopia of trails, rocks, desert, and snow, i guess the answer is EVERYTHING I CAN GET MY TRUCK ON

hehehe
