Has anyone driven any of the newer car out? I'm talking about cars like cobalts, mustangs, chargers, impala's, etc... just post your experiences about cars you've test driven lately.

I drove a Cobalt SS supercharged last night that was a beast, I was going about 30+ at 3k test driving it while i'm still in first gear, well I expected (big mistake) that this car would just accelerate like crazy like all the other cobalts and impala's do, so I floored it and the front is wheel hopping like crazy, all while the rev-limiter is kicking in and i can barely make out 10lbs. of boost on the boost gauge. The rest of the road test was fine except that the car has to be revved to about 2K to get it to start out anywhere... sucks.

I've also driven one of the 06' Impala SS's as well, I was going down a straight away going about 50 in 1st gear at only about 4-4.5k, so I punch it like the cobalt and it spurs up to 90 in a flash, I go to second and I reach 115 no problem, I probably could've topped 140 if I kept on the straight of the road, but I had to turn and head back to the dealer do get the car detailed. Both of these cars handle beautifully when cruising, the cobalt does keep the same handling at high speeds 70+, however the impala is much more touchy when going 60+ and your foot is on the floor, rather scary when it's your first time you drove it.

1st i would hardly consider the mustang or the charger domestic rice...

it seems odd that the cobalt SS had to be revved high to start out, because i thought that supechargers took care of most of the lag problem. I test drove a 04 SRT-4 and the lag and that was barely noticeable...

I test drove a 2005 Saturn ION redline, and i must say that it was quite fun to drive. It is definately somethin' i would buy for a daily driver.

Old guy here. We got my wife the Ford 500 a year ago. It has a 203 hp v6 and is pretty quick. It ain't no mustang gt but it holds it's own. It handles and stops well. I think the Pirelli's help with that. We got the Limited which is like getting a Mikado, top o' the line. It's a nice car , Huge back seat and trunk, It could be smoother and quieter, but you know, it's a Ford not a Mercedes.

on the same note i guess... my mom was looking around and decided to test drive just about everything.. so i went along :D .and i must say that the Ford Fusion was a nice car.. handled well.. and with the v6, a lil more juice than the one in the bigger 500, it could get out of its own way!!

but it was nothing compared the the Mustang GT with the 5 spd....

Yea, The Fusion is smaller and more sporty, and faster. I don't care for it's front end looks though.

i bought a 03 toyota saturday and took the new z out while the guy was doing the papers on the yota.

whoah.......there's an on ramp round here that's a 25 mile/hr corner but it's so banked you can do 80 through it........300hp and six gears is waay too much. even for me.the kid from the dealer made me go back after 10 minutes cause i scared the crap out of him. ...the new fronteer v-6 is pretty sweettoo

i'm pretty impressed with the 6's nissan puts out......don't know how they'll hold up though. when you pump that much hp out of a 3.6 liter you're bound to be doin damage.
