Ya know, I wonder about that. I have a poster at home hanging up in my bar area, of a 68 Chevelle that is in a wheelie stand like that, it says it has a 507 in it, and all I can think about is how friggin hard it must hit when it comes down. Now I have yet to run my truck at the track, and I know for sure its not gonna ride up like that, but does the momentum of the truck make it come down slowly????

I would think yes. If you dont let off the pedal it should ride itself out. But Im no expert.

It depends on whether it comes down before the shift. I had a 76 Camaro that kept the wheels up in first gear, slammed down on the shift and then briefly popped up again in second then came down softly (just a little jolt).

I'm still amazed at what just a Weber and a header can do for a 1.8!!!

(And I'll keep saying it untill someone laughs at I mean with me.)

While a LUV standing on end is a beautiful thing, check out the Jan '05 issue of HOT ROD. On page 52 there is a '68 Chevelle that launched so hard with a nitrous small block that he had all four wheels off the ground and you can just imagine what the bottom looked like after it hit the ground. BTW it was on drag radials.

It prolly came down on the shift and hurt pretty bad at that point too. My cousin used to race a 68 camaro with a 406 on the bottle. It would wheelie through the 60 foot and when it shifted into 2nd the nose came down pretty hard. It took them almost a season and a coupla sets of shocks to get it to the point where it didnt hurt. That HAD to hurt coming down.
