So i was browsing through my LUV shop manual and found something cool. Now i had always wondered how you drain and refill the front diff fluid. I figured since it has manual lock hubs that its not a big deal to run diff fluid for a couple hundred thousand miles as youu probly only use the front axle a few hundred miles in that period. Well i found out there the vary bottom bolt that hold the third member in actuall goes into the case and creats a passage for fluid, AKA a drain bolt! I dont know why i never looked for this, but if i hadnt i figured someone on this site might not know this either.

I sure wish our DANA 60's at work had that option. we have to pull the housing plate and reseal them! fortunately on the transmissions I weld in a drain plug to make them easier to service. It takes a long time to get rewarded though we have 500+ vehicles and 7 people to service them each month! plus another 23 people to do repairs.
