my son is on his way to Texas and is around the Grape vine in Cali. on the I-5 and is to be in El paso by midnight tomorrow. Anyway the silver box that has 2 relays in it one of them would buzz and the generator light would come on the the truck would die, at first he would tap the relay and it would stop buzzin and the light would go out and every thing would be ok but now he taps it the buzzing stops the light stays on and it keeps dieing , any ideas on how to fix it and get to el paso? need help fast and thanks in advance

Them relays can be a PIA to Troubleshoot. You might want to order him a new set and send them to him or hit the auto parts shop when he gets dere.

he went to change a fuse and blew the voltage regulator so it looks like a night in Blythe for him till 8:00am till Autozone opens tomorrow. He has a sense of humor now. He said his new girl friend (the Luv) is "high maintenance" and luvs to have money spent on her. Everything was fine until he went to get more money at Western Union from his wife. Because he spent all his gas money on parts and towing. I guess she, the luv, knew he had more money in his pocket, and wanted a shinny new voltage regulator. You know how they are, they like that bling bling. Stay tuned for the next chapter of "Days of our Luv."

Well he got the regulator changed then he was headed out and the generator light came back on he stopped at an electrical shop because he couldn't find anything wrong after testing everything and it al showed good it took them 2 hrs to find the problem one of the wires that was going in to the alternator was broke at the metal clip and would work then not work so the guy charged him $40 to fix it. He went down the road about 30 miles and it starts coming on and off again he pulls over and the wire the guy fixed was off again so that was a waste of $40 bucks so he’s fixing it with whatever he has to do the job

well he made it home to El Paso but he did have one more problem his smog pump belt broke, the second belt he lost on the trip, and it threw off the water pump belt so it started overheating again and by the way he was at one place that was 126 degrees any way he let it cool down and left the smog pump belt off sense it shredded and put the water pump back on and made the rest of the way with no other problems. He said he now owns stock in every Auto Zone between Oregon and Texas.
