I just got an email for a price on a used toyota engine...895.00!!! WTF! I thought I was looking for a cheap alternative, well I printed the pages on the hooker install and the v-6 mounts this seems like the second most popular swap can someone tell me the difference btwn the chevy and the buick? seems like the buick gets all the v-6 use. There must be a reason that I dont know, and it seems like its gonna be as expensive as any other upgrade. Someone give me some direction please!

Are you puttin this in a Toyota pickup? If so I think that the Buick's stock engine mounts bolt right to the trucks stock motor mounts.

well I gots a 78 long bed luv looks a lot less done than yours. I wasnt thinking tear up the streets motor but this stock 1.8 seems anemic lookin at some of these toyota parts made me think it'd be easy to put in the toy... and gas is like three dollars a gallon here in 'frisco. But maybe not the right choice . The engine I've got runs real well, the g200 w\ the g180 heads is do-able isnt it? But thats short term, does the Buick 4.1 have some advantage over the chevy 4.3?

just curious, but do you have to weld a toyota yolk on the luv driveline, or does it just work?

thanks , Should I look for a donor toyota and gank some of the mounts out of that or is it like adapter plates? did you get a used engine and rebuild it or a used import? those engine whorehouses seem like highway robbers. Did you get a custom driveshaft? (your truck looks tight FJ) I was thinking what Farmerjoe asked as well

when i got my 75 it came with a 20r so the drive shaft and evrything was all done but i cant tell if it was made or welded on but mostlikely u have to weld the yolk to the drive shaft as far as motor mounts yeah u just align the motor in the truck make some brakets and stuff. as for the trans all u have to do is drill 2 or 4 lil holes depending on what trans ur getting. i got my 22r motor for 300 bucks from a salvage yard. and the trans i used the 20r trans. most 22r and 20r parts are interchangeable. and for cooling, stock rad does fine if u take ur time and align the motor good and u can be able to use the stock toyota fan and fan clutch

My truck is not done yet, but a friend of mine with a 305, and a 700r4 gets 24 miles to the gallon.

The 4.10 is way up on the wish along with a 5speed, it is sort of cool being able to break traction at will tho. but jeez its like having a 3speed.
