So talkin to one of the guys here at work, and he says that he don't think they will let me race my truck with a couple hundred pounds of sand bags in the back of the truck. So my delima is, what do I do about putting some weight in the back. Even with the new tires and traction bars, its gonna be tought to try and get this thing to hook up. Any ideas from somebody that knows the rules at the track would be great! Thanks T.

Maybe we can mount something to the spare tire holder, or fill a spare with water or sand or something...
This has me reconsidering my decision not to tub mine a few more inches and go with a 4link and coilovers :?

do you have a back bumper or sumthing because if you do you can melt some lead into it and put it on it will give you like 100-200 lbs in the rear

I don't have a back bumper, and I kinda had the same idea, but was thinking of filling the tailgate with something? I don't know what I will do. My buddy said something about a weight box, but I am not sure what to do.

put the 4 banger back in. that way you won't have to worry about it.

Lol! What I did with mine is re-locate the battery in the back of truck. It doesnt seem that much but it actually helped out. I would guess its because its moving 50ish pounds from the very front to right above the rear end. Also I did it right after I got my new tires so maybe thats what I am noticeing. And with having sand bags in the back of your truck wont let you race at a real drag strip unless its all bolted down or something. Image

what I am going to do to mine is weld a box (about the size of a norman tool box and fill it with lead. weld some "L" shaped brackets on the corners then bolt it down to the bed righ over the axel.

One thing you could do is get some tractor weights and bolt them securely in the spare tire location. Lots of weight in not much space. :) You would need to check the rules about this too because I'm not sure.
