My son just took in the GMC for a trans. rebuild. They also did u joints and pinion seal. They said to bring it back for a drive shaft balance because it vibrates around 35. They're right. It does, and he is going to take it back.

Hey Guys--

I am sure an unbalanced driveshaft can cause shaking but I think unbalanced wheels and tires are a more likely cause.

Regards--

Paul

thats the thing, my tires are brand new and the rebalanced them and everything and it made the problems less intense but still there.

B4 my luv i had an 82 I6 seirra, it had a simular shake round' 45-55 then went away... we changed the tranny mount and it still shook (bet a wee bit less) checked the motor mounts and they were okyday... but we went ahead and decided to get my tire re-balanced (even though the man we bought it from said they'd been balance by his bud's at mock tire in winston-salem) so we went and balanced them... EVERY tire's weights were either on the wrong side, or were the wrong weight or were just not put on... i'd definately check those weights... speacially after putting wet-tire or any simular product on your tires... i slung the weights offa' mine b putting that stuff on... next time i'm gonna just use a gel or somethin'

yah check your U-joints.
Mine did that for a few days before the U-joint let go from the rear end. (the bolts worked themselves loose) and it threw the driveshaft.
check the bolt location to the rear end and check the U-joints at each end.
It could be other things like bearings, or motor mounts, but I would start with driveshaft.
