Hey you guys--
If repairing the wire does not work consider the following:
--- The cooked wire may indicate that too much current has passed thru it.
This could be because somehow the terminal on the solenoid got itself
temporarily grounded. Or because the solenoid itself is shorted. You
can check the solenoid out with an ohmmeter. Normal resistance is
about 8 ohms.
If too much current has passed thru the wire you can figure that a
fuse is blown somewhere. Take a look at the fuses in the box under
the hood, left side.
--- If the solenoid and fuses check out OK, I suggest removing the wire
from the terminal and then touching it back with the key on. You
should be able to hear a click from the solenoid and get a small spark.
If you do then the solenoid is probably OK. If you get no spark you
have no power to the solenoid wire, even if the fuses are good.
You will need to trace the wire back to its source to find the reason
for it to not deliver current to the solenoid.
--- If the solenoid is working OK, and the truck still will not start, you
probably have a fuel starvation problem elsewhere.

Here is a photo of the solenoid for those who haven't seen one:
