I don't think I've heard of anyone doing that swap. In general there isn't really a good reason to do it that I can think of, unless chassis parts are easier to find for the S10. The LUV frame is stronger than most full size trucks. Other than a situation like you are looking at (substantially upgraded/modded S10 frame), I can't see too many people going through the trouble of swapping bodies when it is about as easy to move motor and all that into the LUV.

I would say its worth trying if you have the ability. S-10 bolt on chassis parts are endless. From front/rear bag kits to fully prepped race type rears. Wheel selection would also be huge. You would be dealing with a newer chassis so stock replacement parts are at every parts store, if you keep it stock.

The more I thought about this one the more I realized that it would open up a lot of doors for replacement and aftermarket parts. Technically speaking I'd say the LUV frame is stronger and a better platform to build on. However, reality is that you can buy a hundred times more off the shelf parts for an S10.

I guess I can't be too negative on the idea. For a long time I did want to drop a LUV body onto a GMC Cyclone chassis. ;)

I think theres someone here by the name of "jstorm" who's done this swap. I know over on a trditional hot rod message board we both hang out at that he said he'd swapped over to the S10 chassis. Search the members list & PM him.

i have one luv with a 350 and standard hotrod additions, and the 10yo thinks that it is hers....the s10 has a 350 instead of v6.....and i have 1.5 luvs in the front driveway.....though i could try a switcheroo with the daughter so i had the real hotrod and she had the real version to drive to school when the time comes....now the wife wants a mini.....i always heard luv frame is VERY srong but as ya'll guessed other updates are more readilly available for anything but a luv suspension...i'll just see how inexpensive i can get the s10 and go from there
