Good motors. 283 rcanks and 327 blocks. Make some serious revving hp! A bit on the rare side to find from the factory though, not many produced, but you could build one up yourself. :)

RATNLUV: Buddy, i wasn't saying that i doubt you on facts stated.Just trying to say, that i am learning.......learning that all i have here in front of me is NOT all there is to it on this subject.

The '65 409 musta been a VERY rare thing cause back in 80s i collected quite a few of those cars, never heard or seen of one. But (in late 60's)my dad did have 62 and 63 Impala SS both were ragtops w 409 dual quads and fact 4 spd.

What i would give to have those cars today :!:

no problem If I have learned anything over the years it is Detroit strayed from everything it seems at one time or another. I too would have said it was never made but I remember seeing a blue 65 SS409 and thinking it was strange and it stuck in my mind. I have seen some weird things working on cars over the years. Just trying to get a little more Chevy info out there.

Hey Duane, no offense meant, and none taken. You have more knowledge than I do on the book learning department, and was trying to say that in the post. Just wanting to give a little street info about what was going on from way back when. If the 409 block is strong enough, there are parts available now, that were non existant in the mid sixty's. And do I think a 409 with two fours sitting in the engine compartment of a Luv would be impressive looking? Hey, is the Pope Catholic? As far as remembering me, when we talked, you were in the process of gathering parts, and getting ready to go cross-country, and I know you were talking to a lot of people. While I'm on the subject, you are doing a service that has been needed for a long time, and is much appreciated, and I wish you all the success in that endeavor, and yes, when my MONEY gets here, you'll be getting more calls from me for parts. Keep up the good work, and Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Hey Lil Blue! I also hope to have all the money I need buy January. I'm putting my Buick in the newspaper or Auto Trader this weekend so more people will know it's for sale! I'll let you know when I sell it but I won't be able to get my parts till after I get back from my trip on the fifth. Thanks for all your help and patience with me and for all the time you spent getting my prices put together! I really appreciate everyone's help and input on this 409 idea as well! I'll let y'all know while I'm rebuilding the front clip if I think I'll be able to eventually pull it off!
