yaaaa.....i just finished the ignition swap today.

i have been wondering where the bottom end went after i put the weber on,well it was sitting in an 81 luv.

the power has increased across the top end range and the throttle has no flat spot at takeoff. this was the first time i have ever pegged the stock speedo.

if any one need any help wiring there setup, i can help. was pretty simple.

thanks for the help mepr, i needed my suspisions confirmed. as always this site has been an invaluable source of information.

Is everything you did the same as the instructions given in the information section of the site? Was there anything different except that you used an 81? I plan on doing this too, soon as I can find parts. Thanks, good to have someone do it before you, makes it easier for the latecomers.

some things in the article were a little different since i belive mepr did it with new parts.

i took the setup out of the donor with the harness intact.

the harness for the ignition conisists of a green plug a white plug and a ground.

hook up the ground then clip the green plug's wire off at the positive post of the coil....us ethe cliped off wire to plug the white plug off then hook the ignition wire to the positive side of the coil. drop the dist in and hook it up to the module via connecter and set up the secondary circut(coil and plug wires)

boom you're done.

i'll post a few pictures for so it can be documented

The distributor in the ad is a MAL-4765501 which according to the Mallory catalog is a breakerless electronic, vacuum advance distributor with a three wire hookup. The same catalog also says the part doesn't come with a drive gear. Too pricey for me...
