Is there any way to get better gas milage and still have a fast truck? I'm purchaseing an 78 luv with an rebuilt v8 350 with an B&M shift kit on a 2 speed powerglide tranny. its running the stock rearend right now, I was also wanting to know how big of wheels you can put on the rear with out it hitting the wheel wells. I'm going to put tractionbars on it. I'm buying my love from my auto tech teacher for $2,700 the only thing that he dosent have time to do is interrior. I've already bought a raditor for it, he's going to paint it for free I'm painting it dark blue with a gold racing flag on both sides. The dash is cracked up , Is there an easy install dash kit for it? I also need to find an ignition module what would be both cheep and some thing good? the carb that is on it dosent have a choke its is a 4 barrel carb. How much do the choke kits cost and are they easy to install?

Not really. When you go fast, you use lots of fuel. If you stay off the loud pedal, you get better mileage.

Ebay has a few new dashes but they usually go for a lot.

Cheap is not good very often. I would use accel or mallory.

I would just look for a used 650 cfm 4 barrel in the paper or bargain post. Then rebuild it so you know the ins and outs of a carb. Good luck and hope this answered some of your q's.
