 Post subject: turn signals

ok my truck turn signals don't work but my hazzards do i replaced the turn signal assembly, bulbs but the turn signals don't work could it be my flasher or voltage regulator i dunno have any ideas please say what u think it is thanks. David :twisted:

Sounds like the flasher to me. Ive had mine go out 3 times in two years ,so now i always keep a couple extras in the glove-box 8) :wink:

Agree with above, but if you've got wiring gremlins you might want to check charging voltage and coil positive voltage while the truck is running just to be on the safe side. Turn signals were one of the things gone on mine when I started troubleshooting it early this year -- eventually found a fault in the ignition switch, might have been intermittent at first -- that was bypassing the ballast resistor, but blew the voltage regulator, alternator, and 2 coils before I finally got it nailed down. Coil positive voltage should be no more than 8 or 9 and battery voltage no more than about 14 with the engine running.
