i would say put it in the luv. Im a sucker for upgrading a vehicle whith its own manufacturers parts (IE ford whith ford, GM whith GM).

If you opt to put the 350 setup in, you are in for some pretty good things. Number one is Hedman Headers makes the front mounts and block hugger headers. Number two the Chevy Luv comes with a torsion bar suspension which has two bars for springs, and is out of the way. Three the trans mount sits on the crossover and is easy to make. Radiator, dual it out, have your driveshaft cut, and you are in business. The truck is very well built and the rearend will last until can get something really heavy duty, like a narrowed Ford 9 inch. I've seen on this site where some guys have even gone to the drags and smoked all the way down the strip. Don't get a set of Nitto's and try that or you'll be sweeping up your rearendoff the street. Good luck and go for it.

I can tell you from experience, you're going to love it. When you get it finished you'll have to learn to keep your foot out of it cause it's so much fun. The real fun for me at first was you are in this little truck and people don't expect it to run good. They used to try to go faster (it seemed like) cause they look up and you are right beside them, and they think that since you are in a Luv that you are not able to take off as fast or be able to keep up, so they speed up some more. I have had them do that and look at their speeodometer and try to figure out what's going on. All the time I'm acting like I don't notice. That's right I'm bad. :D

i am not putting the 350 motor in my luv though cause i already am beefing the 4 cyl up and get a transmission

dual sidedrafts (thanks to classifieds here a while ago)
header and flowmaster
cam (maybe)
port and polish
msd ignition
5 speed definitely trooper
might even turbo it or twin turbo it later  i know i am crazy

you can order special copper head gaskets thicker to lower compression for the turbo,

although twin turbo would be a lot more money to cough up but it would be great fun maybe even supercharge it since i got the header and exhaust for my truck

i am sorry i keep talking about different subjects

anyways yah that motor is going in my 55 ford pickup i decided to crossbreed i just want that truck done so i can cruise it me and my dad are going to build a new bed on it since the old one is shot plus fords fits were not good on the bed :?

i posted pics a lil while ago http://forums.luvtruck.com/viewtopic.php?t=3761&highlight=

maybe i ll find another good 350 and i ll drop it in after i blow the 4 cylinder up :D and i ll try my darnedest (not a real word) to do so

but dont worry i still love my luv people around are shop are starting to change their thoughts about the luv being a junker

people always beef up toyota whats wrong with a luv i guess is what a guy said to me

sorry long post i have a lot on my mind :)

Sounds like you are going to end up with two cool trucks.
