 Post subject: Suspension Lift

Has anyone here lifted their truck by the susrension? If not I think i found a way to get about another 3" out of the suspension. Will keep everybody informed if it works.

i think the only way to lift the front stock suspension is to crank the torsion bars. rear can be done a number of ways, like shackles, blocks, and new springs

i think the end all is to put a straight axle under the front though...

If your seriously thinking of doing some chewing with your truck, the best way is to do a straight axle conversion. That way you can put A LOT of lift under it, without having to deal with an IFS set-up. The torsion bars are good for a few inches from stock, and then a lot of guys cut the fenders out a bit to get some extra tire clearance under there. The back rear axle is easy to lift, the front involves more work. If you want a nice off roading truck in the end, do a straight axle conversion, get a toyota front, and bolt er in. Oh and if your cranking your torsions up, DO NOT crank them to full, back them off a bit, you lose ride height, but at least your not going to break the torsion bar off. :wink: Just my .02 cents.

I think that I have found a way to lift the stock suspension about another 3" or so. It will take some work to get the front up there but i will find a way.
