Ive got this freind/ co-worker of mine that is always thinking of cheap ways of doing stuff. For instance, instead of air bags, why not air shocks. So now we have a bet. I dont think he could find a cheap air shock that would suport the weight of the vehicle by itself.

Air shocks are only for adjusting and helping your springs ride height really. My friend has some in his 68' Impala, we air them up for that mean look, rides like crap, or we air them down for that low sleeper look. Rides kinda bouncy. They cannot just hold up a car, you gotta have springs or coils or whatever to take the weight. They only move your ride height two inches at the max anyways. If you want real lowering and raising effect, go with airbags.

a friend bought some air shocks for $60 i think they were good for 1000 pounds.

I just saw a Mazda on cardomain with air shocks on all four corners. Says its temperary until he gets bags. Man thats a lot of weight for those shocks.

Air shocks blow, air bags are the shit. Ask anyone who actually carries any amount of weight and they will tell you airbags are the way to go.
