how did you deal with the hump in the middle of the truck with that box bcg? Would you mind sharin the dimensions of that thing? Think 2 mtx 12 inch subs would fit?

i'll have to measure it again. once i get a cheance i'll do it.
the center was cut around the hump so it would fit flush. it also fits perfect right underneath the bar that goes across the cab.
2 12's should fit perfect :D

Looks like a box I had made for my first truck, only mine came up to about where the bumpers for the seat are. Don't know about 12"s but 10"s fit well.

thats a cool box. i built 2 10" downfire boxes for my gmc. i still have to carpet and wire one of them. its a whole lot cheaper to make one than buy one. just need some particle board, nail gun, liquid nails, carpet, wire, and speaker terminals.

I have a 12 in mine. Built all sides except back out of 3/4 mdf and cut notches in the sides to fit that bar that runs across the back wall. Then I used fiber glass mesh and resin to form the back of the box around that bar and the indent at the bottom where the jack was. The amps, power block and cpacitor will be behind the drivers seat.

By doing the back in fiberglass it saved 3/4 on an inch. Not alot, but oh well. I like the smell of glass resin.

Running a pipe through the cab back is called a port trhough. Cutting the cab back to expose the front of your enclosure and woofers is called a cab through. Probably call them something else now, but when I was into the stereo scene a few years back ,those are the terms they used. I just didnt want to deal with the extra work to weather proof it if I put it in the bed. I actualy had that thought. And at least the passenger doesnt have to worry about their legs hitting the steering wheel. That was my issue with having it behind the drivers seat.

Yeah, I used to see that quite a bit, back in the old days...lol Porting through the cab, that is. Too much work for me. Plus being a giant at 5'8", cutting a couple holes through the cab seems unnecessary. :D
