Guys what year of Isuzu Pup distributor do you use to convert from points? My 75 isn't running and I think it's the pickup coil.

I think 1982 ish. But instead of used junk yard parts, I'd go with a Pertronics conversion kit. It replaces your points with electronic ignition and fits into your existing distributor.

I think the pickup coil is shot. It will pop when you start it but won't run. Power to everything. No pitting in the points and they open and close.

have you checked for spark on all 4 plugs? sounds like a timing problem if you have spark. +1 on the pertronix kit. you can also get remanned electric dizzy from auto parts stores or rock auto

I am going to get the distributor. It started blowing fuses. I think the pickup coil has a dead short.
