I believe you should be looking for a tranny for it that came out of a machine that handled it. Like if you got the SBC 350 out of a buick, then you should get a buick RWD tranny, then perform the drive axle upgrade to handle it.

Theres been talk of somebody doing that on here before. Im gonna advise against it though, i don't think theres enough tranny to hold a SBC. Just not enough tranny there.

Oh and the stock rear end, will take a beating from a SBC of no more then 250 hp. After that she will explode fast. Especially with slicks. Im running the stock rear end with my SBC, all is well at the moment, but an upgrade to a Ford 9" is going to happen very soon.

if you're gonna go with a 350, i'd recommend a muncie rock crusher or similar tranny. there's no way that luv stocker is gonna hold up

If you connect the LUV tranny to a 350 the word evaporate comes to mind. 8O :!:

I got one for sale for $500 right now. It has a new cam, new valves prings, bearings, gaskets, head gaskets, intake manifold and all that is new. No water pump or exhaust, but you will need to get something specifically for putting a v8 in a luv, or you will have clearance issues. I also have a motor mount kit for a 350 into a LUV. Hit me up if you are interested. The motor is still sitting, as is the motor mounts. You can have everything for $500. I also have a TH-400 auto tranny that came out of the same truck as the motor, it is in really good shape. You can have it for $300 extra, so $800 total. if you want it let me know and maybe I can work something out with you or give you a better price, because I need to get rid of it fast.

PM me or email me.

Daniel
