thank you for the pictures and info sir. I just purchased a 72 with a 4 link and didn't like the way it was done and I'm in the process of redoing it and wanted to see what others had done. My ideas were pretty much the same as what you did.

Did not take any pics this weekend but, made a little progress. Picked up a different tailgate, 6 hours of drive time to retrieve it. Fuel cell mounted, battery tray made ( after throwing the first one away) fuel pump bracket made and mounted, lines ran to carb location. It is getting closer to a runable truck but, will be all busted apart when finished mocking everything up. It will see the street and track soon.

Who makes a nice roll cage? I am in the market for one and I know that I will have to change a few tubes to make it fit like I want. I plan for the rear tubes to fit below the rear window and go all the way to the rear of the wheel tube.

Almost to the point of tearing it back apart for paint and a few more details! I have been busy with family, friends, and other activity's that have gotten in the way of the build. This is a few pics. that show some progress!

The first one is of the new bumper setup and it is a nice piece too!

I have a new hood ordered and it should be here sometime soon. Not that I am ready for it yet but, I will someday! The guy told me that his hoods weigh 3# total and can build them in Carbon Fiber that is even lighter! 8O 8O

I ended up taking a few week break from Cheap Heap because I have another truck that I am fixing up for a commuter! Not a Luv but close, 94 Toyota that I just have a few more details to finish before I get back on the Luv! I will be posting like crazy soon because it will be in the fast stage of tear down, painting, reassembly, wiring and FIRING! I am excited to pull all of this together in a few short months!

Made a little progress on the Heap trying to fit and adjust before tear down. Brackets for this and that take time and slows me down too! Now I will be in a fast pace to get more done.

I have driven this truck twice. Just down the road and back Found a problem or two and corrected them. The biggest one involved firing order (as I didn't build this motor) it had a 4/7 swap cam. Swapped wires and BAM this thing will fly. Scrubbed it down to clean it up and got it ready to install the roll cage and glass then testing will begin!
