Early Isuzu pup stuff should interchange with your 81

This question has come up at least three times lately, and I don't know if we ever got good answers. That seems to be a hard component to find, except for used ones.

1981-1982 should be safe. They're identical to the '81-'82 LUVs. It may be possible that the '83-'87 would fit, but I just don't know. I'll bet oldestisuzuist wold know that one.

If you're Googling for it, you need to know that you're misspelling it. It's "axle", actually (yes, that's a bad pun).

I was told its a chevy luv but when i pop the hood is says isuzu soo im not too sure and yea my phone auto correxts axle to axel. When i go to google it there really isnt any solid answers on the internet i just dont want to go out and but a cv axle and end up getting the wrong one. Its the only issue thats wrong with my truck and its horrible beacuse i cant find a clear answer anywhere im just going to end up taking out the axel and going to the auto parts store and get a identical one i suppose hopefully ill be able to get a clear answer because someone has to have had the same issue with a luv it would be nice if i could specifically find a 81 forum with that issue and get the closest possible answer.

Your phone's autocorrect is your worst enema. ;)

But seriously, hang around a little while and you'll probably get some good answers.

It’s a Chevy LUV, but there are no “Chevy” components. The truck was made in Japan by Isuzu and rebadged for Chevrolet.

Check out isuzupup.com. The 81 and 82 LUVs are nearly identical to the early Isuzu pups so you might get more help there. Most of us on this site have 72-80 LUVs

Wee if you have a company called Advance Driveline. The have offices in FL, and a couple my friend found in Ill. They rebuild old drive line parts. If you shaft is good, there may be a CV joint replacement kit for it.

I found a company in Iowa who rebuilt my battered CV axles last year. Gem of an Old-School business, quality work done well and swiftly for a fair price.

here's a link to the main page, call them I'm sure you'll find the right guy swiftly : http://www.fastshafts.com/

side note : man, they were pretty when they came back, similar to Paul's rebuilding of the injection pumps. loveliest pieces on the truck, buried underneath, hahaha !

mine have been butter-smooth since installed

(Since his username showed up in the quote, I guess he's a member here as well)

Man. This is great link here. Is there a page somewhere with these links listed? This could save my butt one day.

Also who is Paul? Might need injection pump rebuilt someday
