Hey guys,

So put 33's on my 1982 LUV diesel with a 3" lift and wheel spacers. The tires fit fine with a little trimming, but it seems to be little much for the stock gearing/tranny. Any advice on getting some good torque to handle these large tires?

Your truck has 4.10 gearing, you could swap in the 4.56 differential 3rd members from a '84-'87 Trooper. This would return the power/torque levels to those of a 29-30" tire, but it's a lot of work, especially the front drive axle.

Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it! So do you think I can run the truck with 33"s on those 4.10s? Or is this gonna burn up my tranny/gears?
