Dad's got a 2002 Avalanche with a 5.3. Dad also has a rat problem. (He lives in the boonies)

The rats chewed his knock sensor wires. I can't find the other end of the wires they chewed.

I've looked up the ECM pinout and found that #11 and #51 are the knock sensor wires on that end. My question is can I tap the wires to the ECM and go straight to the knock sensor harness or is there a resistor or something inline?

Just thinking one of you LS swap guys would know. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, there is no resistor. I have been spending a lot of time verifying pinouts on my swap, and I haven't seen any...

So I should be able to just wire each knock sensor directly to the pinouts on the ECM? They appear to be single wires to each sensor and I assume the ground is in the threads of the individual sensors.

This does work I learned. But it turns out I was wrong about where the rats had chewed the wires.

I finally traced the wires from the ECM to the harness and they were intact. Had to pull the intake and replace the harness to the knock sensors. Went ahead and put a couple new sensors in since we were that far in anyway.

Man the LS motor is a pretty simple motor to work on. Whole job took an hour and a half and could probably shave half an hour off if we had to do it again. Although knock sensors are a bit easier on the old sbc's.

Oh I meant to post this. Look how close the wires got chewed to the sensor. You could barely see the wires sticking up through the covers.
