Hello everyone. I'm new to this site and just bought my 1st luv. Looks like there is alot of knowledge and information on this site. So I'm going to ask my 1st of many questions probably.

I have a 75 luv short wheel base that I'm wanting to do a v8 swap with . I want to keep it street legal so I can have some fun with it. I've pulled the motor and transmission out and dropped in a 400 sbc with a turbo 350 in it. I done some reading and bought some Hooker Super Comp Headers 2140HKR 1 3/4 primaries that are supposed to be a direct fit. But but the 2 middle tubes are hitting the bracket that goes from the frame to hold the torsion bars on both sides of the truck. I don't want to cut the fire wall to move the motor back. The heads are already touching it and I have the motor picked up so high that the transmission is touching the tunnel So if anyone has any ideas on what I'm doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Hubert

I bought a engine plate to bolt to the front of the motor. So I am going to cut the factory mounts off the frame.

The hooker mounts work with the headers. To use the plate you just need to position the engine to clear with the headers and trim the block plate to fit...
