I just checked the factory parts manual and it shows nothing for series 11&12. I thought it was between the door and rear window on the post. The only badge it shows is on the glove box.

Do you have a picture of the glove box emblem?I cant find that one either. Also, there was one on the cab posts, cuz I can still see the outline of the letters in the paint.. Strange its not in the factory manual though.

Go to the main page here and click on information tab, the parts manual is there.

I have a 1981 LUV Diesel Mikado. The emblems don't look anything like the picture above. That definitely looks like first generation. EVERYTHING was rounder on them apparently. LOL
The Mikado badges on mine are much smaller and squarer. They are only on the pillar between the door and the bed on both sides. They are definitely original and they are the only ones on mine. I don't see any signs that any others were ever removed. There are no Mikado badges on the dash, glove box, fenders, grill, steering wheel, bed, etc. There are only the two. The only thing that I am not sure of is the tailgate because I bought my truck without one.

Did it look like this maybe? It has been forever since I have seen a 2nd gen.

There's a guy who parts out a lot of 2nd gen LUVs and P'ups, and he posts some of the more in-demand stuff on Etsy and eBay. I haven't seen MIKADO emblems specifically, but he often has emblems. If you want to contact him, his email is sqdeb@yahoo.com.

Ga LUV, if you are still looking for the Mikado badges for your truck, I have a set of them I bought by mistake. If you pay shipping, they are yours!
