Anyone relocate their leaf springs inboard for more tire clearance?

I'm contemplating moving the leaf springs inboard to make a little more tire clearance. Just curious if anyone else has any experience?

Thanks.

The leaves are directly under the frame rails. Are you also going to narrow the frame?

Thought about narrowing the frame. But looking at what I have I think trimming the spring perch and the current traction bar might suffice.

If I do back half the truck it'll be sometime later.

I have seen it done . Cut the frame rails and narrow the rear rails , but if it is a fleetside the bed will need to be modified . How much tire do you need ? guys down here going 4.60's on a 29.5 true. If you bad half it .....BACK HALF IT. you can always run a smaller tire . Go ahead and set it up for a big tire.

Email tech Automotive Component Engineering. They can tell you how to easily narrow your frame 5", moving the springs in the same amount. Takes about 10 hours. You can also see how its done at http://s731.photobucket.com/albums/ww314/OldRob/ It's in the courier section.

Old Rob, thank you. I've sent ACE an email. We'll see what we get in return.

Old Rob, ACE sent a diagram on Z'ing the frame. Much easier than I though. Thanks.
Now it's just a matter of leveling the frame, measuring, marking, holding your breath, cut and weld!
