Hello all.

Currently unsuccessfully hunting for a LUV.

Been one of those 'to do list' cars for a long time ... finally starting to shop around.

If anyone has any leads in SA or Aus in general, let me know :)

Has been great to research on this site though.

hi mate, im in Adelaide hills, there are a few luvs about the place. Keep an eye on Gumtree and search for Isuzu kb20/25 they do come up from time to time. Also keep an eye out in paddocks etc there are a few luvs on farms still.
I have a couple of friends with Luvs but none for sale sorry!
Whats your plans when you get one?

Hi mate,

Yes, I saw you were in Lobi ... I'm just up the road a bit, out at Springton.

I keep and eye on gumtree, but just a matter of waiting it out. I had a look at the one that was/is on there at the moment. Little bit rough, would be OK to grab it for parts of the price was right.

The inlaws neighbour is a farmer and still running about in his, doesn't want to let it go yet though.

Plans are for a bit of a restomod I guess. Nothing too wild, just something to cruise and use. Previously had a Datsun 1200 ute, and miss the multitasking duties. But always wanted a Luv, so ready to start shopping.

Nice! As much as I dislike Commodores, the 3800 is an appealing middle road swap. But v8 would be great.

I was eyeing off the neighbour's kb tonight. Diesel 4x4. Will have to work on him.

i did think of a commodore 3800 v6 but everyone chucks them in everything, probably a decent option if you put a supercharged one in but its always going to be a commodore engine!

A young fella up here in Brisbane had a 2x4 with series II Commodore engine/trans & sold it through Gumtree about 2 years ago. A mate spotted it not far from me about a week ago & sent me a photo.
It all appears to be the same as when it was for sale. The old owner took it to Willowbank a few times with quite respectable times & also used it as his daily driver.
Simple swap & went like a rocket

There was another 2x4 LUV advertised around 12 months back with a Holden 304 V8, I'd asked him about it regarding engineering etc, but didn't get any reply
