Hi fellow chevy luv'ers!

I'm from sunny South Africa (Pretoria), and bought a 1975 luv.

Chevrolet was not in our country for many years initially (though they are back, and with a bang!) and this luv truck is a real rare find. She is an old farm worker, and the dents, knocks and tears show the tough life.

My son adores this truck, and constantly wants to "drive" it. He climbs in, and even closes the door himself.

Nice truck. It's as nice or better then what many of us started with in the land of plenty compared to your area.

It's been a while since I had any updates. I finally have the luv truck road worthy, and can finally register the truck on my name now that I have a roadworthy certificate.

I'll upload pictures in a few days for you viewing pleasure. 8)

I have no darn idea how to make flickr images stick on this site.... Ok figured out different route, busy updating...

Days turned into weeks into months. Wow time flies when you are having fun

Here are some new updates on the pre-V8 progress.

The truck is finally registered on my name, note the new blue numberplates from the previous yella' ones.

To insure the truck I needed a valuation certificate. It was only valued at $600 which sucks as a vehicle with a roadworthy here should sell for no less than $1100. But alas, its only for when some clown with his ABS brakes stops too quick in front of me...

Here is a pic of the rust oxide doing its work on the truck inner metals.

The tires on the truck is VERY old. I'm toying with ideas of which wheels to fit whilst replacing tires..

The interior has been stripped out and is with the motor trimmers. Will load pics in a few days.

Funny that the 75 over there has what is to us the '72 bed style. I wonder if it was changed? Or maybe 75's were sold that way in South Africa

IIRC my homework correctly the trucks arrived in the USA without load bins because of chicken tax. The '72 style bins are fitted as they come from the factory. I would however have loved to have a stepside, they look so awesome!
