Poor little thing. Its all cold and feeling neglected:

So lets bring it in to the garage, making sure that Mama Bear can still park her car in there:

I am sure that it feels mucho better now. Let the fun begin.

Out with the old:

In with the new.

While we at it, lets make it a little more "street legal"

There is nothing wrong with the plastic fuel cell. But it is starting to bow on the top and and does not have a fuel level gauge.

So, lets make one:

I used the stock fill neck on the new tank, without thinking about the huge hole left in the fender when it was gone...DOH. So I made a new "gas cap"

I envy your ability to be able to mount your new fuel pump so high on the frame. My winter tank project is a modified 40# propane cylinder mounted behind the rear end. The fuel pump will be safe on my 4x4 since I don't off road, but it would be a lot easier mounting it higher..

Thank you. And yes, working in an unheated garage in winter will keep tasty beverages cold :)

Is that a 9" ring and pinion ? Looks like upgrades are in the works.

You have a keen eye. Is a 9" ring and pinion, just waiting for the funds to narrow the rear end and buy axles.
