Thanks guys. This dash repair is a PITA...

Haven't spent much time on it. I got another resto project for a customer I am working on in what little spare time I have, so it is on the back burner mostly. I probably am around halfway through with the dash. I need to finish it and the trans tunnel, install the shifter/console, finish up a crossmember I am modding, and wire it. I have a timeline goal for completely finishing the truck but I hate to post it as chit usually comes up...

One step back... Two steps forward...

Worked on the crossmember mod...

And the rest of the pics suck, but I got it all roughed in, and the center notched to (hopefully) clear the driveshaft at travel...

I also finished the trans tunnel, will start on the shifter mount next...

The bad was the shop cat knocked my dash pad over and it is wacked, I can continue on with what I was doing to it, but I am gonna take the lazy way and just install my spare dash and new dash cap...

Thanks...

Sooo... much for planning, lol... I bought a B&M quicksilver shifter, then decided to get the camaro console. Well the console shifter they make for that has a different base. I can make it work... but... The console is a tight fit between the seats. I will not be using the 1967 Chevelle buckets in it now that I have a 1967 Chevellle, so I just scored a different set off Feebay that I hope are narrower. I only need about half an inch...

I screwed the shifter base down to work with the console if it will fit, and like the position, so it will stay. If the console don't work, the place I cut out of the hump for the console to clear looks like a nifty place to mount the MSD and the trans controller, so no biggie...

My seats finally arrived. They are narrower, YAY!

Image

However, the item was not exactly as described...

The driver seat frame is toast...

Image

Image

I will not use the frame, but to do my pre fitting, I welded it up, scabbing in what was missing...

Image

Got the seat back together...

Image

And the console will fit between them...

Another picless post, but wiring is wiring, lol... I started sorting the wiring, and wiring in my 6 gauge digital panel. Of course the sneders for them need some adapters to fit my engine... I did get the Spectre throttle cable trimmed and installed...

Let's see...
1. Got the radiator installed with floating mounts and got the upper and lower hoses on, had to shop for some I could cut down...
2. Mounted the heater control valve in a convenient spot, modified a cable to fit, and plumbed the heater hoses, except for one, ran out of hose...
3. Fabbed a bolt on bracket to add the tps cable to the throttle bracket, used the mount for it to help hold the throttle cable in place...
4. Installed and wired the TPS adapter. This is for the trans controller...
5. Spent a LOT of time trying to get electric fan configured for a puller, ended up not being able to, reinstalled a flex fan (no pusher, I want to put AC in it).
6. Mounted the Pro Coil and wired up the cap after I finally found it and put it on...
7. Mounted the Digital 6 box.
8. Put some jets in the nitrous lines so they would seal off...
9. Rechecked/tightened all the fuel connections...
10. Rechecked/tightened all the brake connections...
11. Installed the oil and temp sensors...

To be done

1. Need to source a ball for the carb to connect the tps cable to.
2. Short section of heater hose.
3. Need some water pump studs for the fan...
4. Drill a 1/8 NPT hole in the filler neck of the radiator to relocate overflow barb.
5. Install the catch can I just ordered when it comes in...
6. Finish the shifter install underneath the truck...
7. Mucho wiring... The Digital 6, the digital gauges, the NOS, the rest of the connections for the trans controller, and then any body wiring I lack...
8. Battery, fluid top off, and hope...

Got the front shocks earlier this week. Today I had a few minutes and pretty much have the MSD wired. Just have to find the switch wire for it. I also decided to double up the grounds so I looked through the stash and got all of the stuff for that. Just got to crimp on an end and bolt it all up...

I finished up the trans controller wiring today, just have to connect it to the ignition run circuit. I fabbed a mount for the touchscreen and installed it, and hid the wiring for it all. PITA...

And I got some time to fool with it today, last update from 12-27-15 was the last time I touched it... I got all the wiring done (I think) except for the hot wire to the cigarette lighter... I got the gauge panel finished up and installed, installed my steering wheel (not completely done, I have to get the horn stuff in it) and the radio installed...
