The information on this is very spread out . I would suggest scaling the truck before buying so you can get the correct spring . I have not done the conversion yet , but im looking to soon.

The knowledge is very spread out, From what I have researched and found is most people cut out the top and weld in a bracket to use eyelet coil overs

http://static.speedwaymotors.com/RS/SR/Product/2131525_L.jpg Like this picture

They use 350lb springs.
Since the luv springs are eye let on the bottom and stud on top most people have problems directly adding some in.
I haven't done it myself but I want wondering if someone could use these conversions on the eyelet on top to convert to stud on top. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/exp-690002/overview/

I have also looked into cheaper options for coil overs, Q1A seems to be the go-to for most people. Ebay has some knock off cheapy that may or may not work
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Quality-Street-Rod-Rear-Coil-Over-Shock-Set-w-350-Pound-Springs-Black-Coated-/360810884460?hash=item5402012d6c&vxp=mtr
Like those. Would of course need the eyelet conversion.

Viking performance is also another brand I have heard good things about and has some cheaper options, (Order through their catalog or website for cheapest options.
Does anybody have anything to add to this?

This is as far as I have gotten on research wise (i'm lazy) My only question is, what lengths should we aim for? and we have to add the extra inch or so of the conversion if we go that route.

Mine are Art Morrison, not sure of the part number. I have right at 760lbs on each front tire. I run a 230lb spring.

Do you happen to know the compressed and uncompressed lengths of these coil overs? and are you able to get it to a ride height you like?

No I don't. I know they came with a 10" Spring and you could lower it to the bump stops. I wanted to go way lighter so I use a 12" Spring and collapse it more. I am happy with the ride height.

I got the Viking Performance double adjustable for the front of mine. Looked at the qa1's, viking performance was about $100 cheaper total price, & the warranty is twice what qa1's was. Very nice pieces. My springs are 9" & rated for 400lb. Compressed height was 10.04, extended was 14.24. Part # c205w. These are what the guy from viking recommended after telling him what I had (76 luv & sbc) They bolted on perfect. Hope this helps. :D
