OK, I guess I get to have a build thread now. So here it is. I did the most important upgrade first. See the pic. Here's a link to other pics.viewtopic.php?f=33&t=29181

Hotrod 80, come off with the suspension secrets, Ron is trying to make a budget bracket/street truck out of it. We heard a little rumor you can make them hook.

Torsion bars work on dusters .......just sayin you don't need a tube chassis . Slapper bars will work , but a afco front perch to fit a "standard " width leaf in place of the factory leaf is you best bet if "stock suspension " is the game . For shocks all you really need to do is slow down separation a bit . Make sure the front has 4-5 " of travel and it will work with a stock vortec motor with a decent tire . Clean up the fuel system and the small stuff and enjoy . Very cool truck Ron . Im jealous . I realy like the MOJO of this truck and im glad it ended up with you , not that it wasn't in good hands though . Hell put a decent tire on it and give it a try .

Thanks Hotrod. I've wanted a V8 LUV since I was 16. Probably alive today because I didn't get one then.
I'm really looking forward to building this thing and playing around at the track.
And you're not the first one to talk about that fuel delivery set up.

In search of a left window regulator for a non wind wing door.
Also a left fender in good shape. Thanks.

Tim helped me by grabbing a regulator while at the junk yard, so that's all good. Thanks Tim.
Got a good brake pedal today by adjusting the master/booster push rod a bit today. Took out the left motor mount (it's broken) so I can go get a new one hopefully tomorrow.
Money it tight around here so it looks like I will just make a weekend driver out of this truck for a year or so (yea right) and then convert to a race truck hopefully before I'm dead. lol

Nothing wrong with a small block LUV as a weekend driver.

Nothing wrong with weekend driver at all . Just fix up the tidbits that need attention and run no electronics or DOT class . The main thing is enjoy and have fun .

That is good news Ron. We need to do some cruising with Don. 8)

I am still looking for a fender for you. The guy in Vista resurfaced with the OEM fenders again, but he still wants bank for them. I think I have been talking to him for 3 years now and he won't budge on his prices.

Big step made today. Andrew's Subaru left my garage under it's own power, so my LUV gets to move in. Maybe I'll be more in the mood to work on it during the week after work.

You might as well keep that LUV. If I gave you mine it wouldn't have a garage to live in, can't do that now.

Why don't we plane a Saturday work party and fix a bunch of the little stuff? I am willing to travel up there and see what we can get done in a day.
