just got new brakes rotors and pads for the front of my 79 luv from orielly's. for some reason the pads will not fit on the rotor when installed in the caliper. has anyone had this is issue? if so what is the solution?

Did you use a c clamp to push the brake piston back when you were removing the old ones? If you don't push it back the new rotor will be too thick to fit.

Did you buy standard luv rotors?

yes i pushed back the caliper and did buy standard rotors same as the old one that where on there. i didnt know if there was some trick to getting the pads to fit

If they're close to fitting, you can take your rotors back to oreilleys and get them turned and that'll take a little off. It's not a bad idea anyway. I've bought new rotors before that were a little off.

or - just spitballing here - take the pads to the disk sander for a sec and remove a bit of the cheaper material instead.
