I am looking for a good mechanic for my daughter in Portland. Her 2008 Suzuki SX4 has developed a knock and it doesn't sound too good. She can't afford to get hosed and just needs to get it fixed. Anyone know of an honest shop up that way?

Thanks for any help with this

I have a trailer and truck, will go up there for fuel cost.

Heard one of those with a vicious engine knock. Turned out to be a bad injector (I was surprised to say the least). However it wasn't an easy fix because the parts aren't available. Ended up getting parts from a salvage yard.

Suzuki closed up shop a couple years ago and left the country quietly. I think parts will be hard to come by also.

Thanks for the offer Karl, We are exploring a few different options at this point.

I would think parts would be available. You also have JAP imports where they import front half's engine transaxles and the whole thing or they import the engines. you would still need someone to do the work. I know several people who have had JAP engines=transmissions installed and are happy. You could check craigslist for a engine too. I use a local small shop in my small town in Texas on everything expect my wife's new Dodge Journey..

If you are there and have some tools their might be a few people that can help you look for causes of the knock.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

The Suzuki was traded in on a Toyota Corolla so it is someone else's problem now. 8)
