Hey guys im new to the luv truck but iv had mine for a little over a month. It has not been on the road for 5-10 years so im working to get it back. Iv got it running and most of the electrical worked out but my windshield wipers and spray pump are not working. I pulled the switch out of the dash and checked and it does have power so I used a jumper cable and tried all the connections to see if I could get anything to work. Although they all had power that were meant to have power nothing happened when I grounded them out.

So now to my question! Where in this truck is the windshield wiper relay? I know ill have to pull the dash to get at the motor but im hoping to see if its a bad relay first.

Thanks for the help!!

It could also be the wiper linkage frozen with rust due to non-use. Make sure to lube everything when you can get to it.
Also you need to tell everyone what truck you are asking about, there were changes to LUVs over the production lifetime.

No relay involved, just a two speed motor controled by the switch. Ignition switch must be on and check fuses and fuse box if you haven't already. Washer pump may just be stuck from setting.

See if you can move the arm from the motor to the wiper shaft. You may need to disconnect it from the motor to see. Mine was frozen and it was easy to tell, you may be able to move the shaft where it comes out of the body where the wiper blade goes on the shaft out side below the windshield. Do not remember if that was how I checked my or not. But you could tell it was frozen very easy.

Hope that makes sense. I worked late, so I am still half asleep while writing this.

You can down load it on a link off the main site. Thanks Ben for doing that.

Like others have said. Make sure the wiper shafts are free them hake sure there is power at the switch. This is a easy circuit.

As for the washer pump, when mine quit I plumbed in a cheap aftermarket pump attached to the firewall near the reservoir. Again it's just a hot wire from the activation switch.

Hey thanks guys! I believe the motor is dead... Both rusted out and has a short in it. I was checking the electrical connections and the ground on the switch was not grounded. So I wired in a new one and as soon as I plugged it in the wire melted... I may have done something wrong but I believe I will need a new motor and switch.

Also How do you go about taking the dash out of this little truck? All the plastic is very brittle and I don't want to pull on something and brake it if its not involved in the removal of the dash.

Thanks again!

If you mean instrumant cluster: reach up behind, remove four wing nuts by hand, disconnect the speedometer cable and any electrical connectors and pull it out the front.
On the motor switch I believe a wiring error shorted something to ground. The fuse should blow ( 15 amp) long before any wires should melt.

Well I would like to remove the whole dash to recover it and when I have that out I'll replace the whipper motor witch I'm guessing is in the Dash. The fuse is not blown that was the first thing I checked that's why I was asking about the relay to see it the falt could be with it. As it looks now ill run with no wipers and a whole buch of rainX haha

Thanks for the help guys!

The dash frame does not come out, unless you CUT it out, it is part of the cab, the only part of the dash you can remove is the pad and it more than likely will come off in pieces.

Oh ok well that works I guess... How do you get to the wiper motor? Also how do you remove the dash pad? It needs to be fixed badly!! Once I get the gauges out is there any other parts holding the pad on? Do the vents on top of the dash hide screws or do they come out with the pad?

You get to the motor from underneath the dash, the dash pad is glued to the metal frame. I just tore mine off as I was replacing it with a new pad (don't ask where you can get one because they are near impossible to find now). The switch clusters and steering column hold the pad on the bottom, those will need to come off, the vent on top is clipped to the dash pad, it will come off with the pad.
