Yes I spoke with him tonite. He says it sounds like the 3-4 clutches and bands went out the door. He said pull it out, bring it over, and he will go through it and replace what's needed.

The difference in a 4l60e, and a 4l65e is the 65 has a five pinion planetaries and some hardened parts. You can build an awesome 4l60e, but like anything else, it's more money. A stock factory 4l60e will stand up to a lot of abuse. Third and fourth gear clutches are usually the first to go unless you are really launching hard with lots of hp.

Haven't had many lookers at the truck, and im having second thoughts on getting rid of it. Been thinking about redoing a few things and making it more enjoyable to drive more often. One thing ive really wanted to do for a long time is bob the bed a little. The few ive seen in the gallery go really extreme. I want to do more of a subtle bob, and leave the side marker lights in the bed. The photoshop i did doesn't show light, but it will be there.. Did a half ass tape job to see how id want to cut it.. Will be a while before i actually do it.

As far as making it better to drive is add wipers, so ill have to redo the entire dash pretty much. Probably get rid of the cage, put a regular back glass back in it. Get some door seals for it, carpet, redo seat.. simple shit.

That's going to look good.
What are you going to do with the tie-down hook?
It looks like it may be fine right where it is.

I really like that look, and would probably keep the tie downs. They don't detract from the overall look, and may come in handy sometime.

Yea, that makes the distance from the rear of well to rear of bed the same as front of well to front of bed. I like it. 8)

Yes I plan on keeping the tie downs. Believe it or not I do haul stuff in the bed. Not heavy, but I have to tie it down somehow. And the tie downs should not be affected. I want to redo the inside of the bed. Going to be a lot of work but I'm up for it.

When you look at the picture next to the photoshop it makes the standard bed look like a long bed.

Wiper pieces from 78chevyluv came in yesterday. And i met up with hotrod80 yesterday and got me a nice stock hood.

Got the wipers all mounted up yesterday.(i assume i have it all setup right. Dont remember how it should go) motor works. Have to mount the bottom of the wiperbracket still has my firewall has been modified in that area. And i put my ls3 intake on.

Great now I know how much room I ll have with that setup. My brake booster is already underneath my dash for a clean firewall. How much did yours run you?

I think in the end with compressor, vents, controls, extra fittings and all I was in it for about 1500. But the only stupid little vents that would fit in the space I had at the time were 300$ for the 3 of them. So I you can run. More basic vent you can get away for around 12-1300.

Lol I'm going with the stock ls3 intake. I bought it and the stock hood so I could keep everything under the hood again. And the cage is gone. I was building it for a little while like I was building a race car but this thing won't see the track but a couple times just to see what it runs. So hopefully my first pass is good before they run me off lol

Stock hood is pretty light as is. Plus I haven't built any of the truck with the weight being a factor. It is what it is. Street truck.
