Hey Guys,

Time to put some wheels on my LUV. But I don't want to shell out a bunch of cash for a set of American Racing at the moment, so im gonna try and find some 6 bolt 15" stock chevy wheels that will work, at a auto wreckers or something. But what kind of old vehicle would have what im looking for. Like maybe something like Rally wheels or something chrome anyways! Any ideas?! :?

six lug chevy truck ralley's will work if you can find a set. Also any nissan or toyota six lug will fit. I believe, somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Hope this helps.

Hmm ok, thanks guys, what kind of "sporty" wheels could i find off of a Toyota or nissan?? Did they make a chrome wheel for them??

Nissan made a chrome rim. In a 6 or 7 spoke pattern. Not really sure of the size I believe they were 15" but not 100% sure. I had a friend who had a set on a 60's chevy they looked cool. I think they used them on the late 80's early 90's trucks. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Those nissan chrome spokes are nice, but watch out for the deep inset version. I have a set of four that would look great, but the inset on them has the rim hitting the grease fitting on the ball joint. The wheels pictured above look like they are set out at least 2 inches more than the set I have sitting around.

Another option is Isuzu pickup/trooper/amigo/rodeo wheels. For cheap, the early 80s troopers came with a white steel wheel with round holes all around. For nicer, look for some of the alloys found on amigos, troopers, and rodeos of the early 90s. You can find some pics at http://www.wheelcollision.com/isuzu.htm , I was thinking of some like the one pictured at the beginning of that link, but click the link for trooper, amigo, or rodeo and browse through some of the pictures for more ideas.

Most 6 lug wheels will fit, I think the bolt pattern on a LUV is 6 on 5.5 inch and matches older chev 1/2 ton (back to the 50s at least), Nissan, Toyota, and most of the imports. Just watch for excessive back spacing and anything where the center hole is tiny.

Thanks Guys! Im gonna go to the auto wreckers this week and see what they got for wrecked toyo's and nissan pickup's. I'm pretty sure i can find a set of wheels there. What size of tire does the LUV stock rims hold?? B/c i got some 10.5 x 31 inch on 15 inch rims mud tires that i want to use on the back for the winter months. Would these tires fit on the stock LUV rims?? Or is the rim width too short?? :?

thanks man :D there 235/75 8.5 inches wide.
if i didn't watch the air pressure in the rear tires i would rub the leaf springs, i realy didn't lose my turning radius either.
they came off of a 94 pathfinder.

i ended up selling them to grimace on this forum for 100 bucks. :D
2 of the rims were brand new :D it only cost 60 bucks to ship :D :D

everybody liked the way they looked but i only thought they were ok, so i dropped my truck back down :)

I was thankful I tried a rim before I had any tires mounted on them. I also lucked out in that my Dad had picked them up for almost nothing along with some other stuff, so I wasn't out anything for them. Anyone need some Nissan wheels for something other than a LUV, let me know as they are still sitting around at my folks place.

Fitting them on the rear is my main concern. I'm spinning really bad and I am going to find a couple to run until I get my new rear end. :D

some nice looking wheels that are real popular right now with the nissan guys are the cadillac escalade wheels....17x7... also the Yukon Denalis wheels looks bad asss...

with everyone that has these vehicles buying 20"+ wheels there is a rather abundant supply of these stock wheels on ebay at a good price.

a nice alternative to running a 15" which everyone has?!

So will my stock rear end hold up for awhile with 15" tires? I know I can't do slicks but a beefy street tire?

yes it will hold.
if your running the stock 1.8 it'll be a slow start but once you get her rolling you'll cruise 8)
