Ok , I have some good news for the rear window seal blues / I just put a rear window from a 75 luv into my 72 along with a new VW window seal from a bus and it fit perfect ( with a little help from a string and some Dawn soap it went right in )

If you cant get those new, you just made A LOT of people very happy!! Good find! 8)

Is this it, if so lets sticky it.

My friend owns a VW repair shop, I am going to see if his local supplers have the seal in stock, if so I will get one. Anyone l;ocal to me need a test fit. My seal wont handle a removal anymore, If it works I will give you the seal.

I called and spoke with the guy at the VW shop (op's dad) and he sent me to the shop he got it from. You have the right part number Karl. I am planning on picking one up Saturday and if it works I'll post a thread with pics. Sorry to jack the thread but this is breaking Luv news.

Looking good!

What are you paint plans? Honestly looking at the overall condition of your paint I think it would polish up pretty nice. A D/A polisher with some maguires 105 polish would bring it back pretty good. You would still have some petina around the edges but I think it would look great. It would get you by for a while.

thanks . my plan is to get it going and then start on the body prep etc.. the body is real straight , only has some surface rust . My biggest concern is fixing the hood / thats where all of the rust is

Yeah its going to be a fun truck . the tailgate will be a mix of a few years , I found a later model ( 78 ) a while back and I’m going to use the hardware off of that to finish the new one I just found . unless anybody has a 72 just laying around ..... :ewink
