I have a 66 chevy swb. i got a recent rebuilt motor real cheap. has holley intake, holley 600 carb, 202 heads, small cam and bored .30, headers to dual 2.5" 40 series flowmaster dumped at rear.

now im wanting to make it better! i have
Holley street dominator intake
holley 650 double pump
280 'Magnum' Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam kit (springs, lifters, timing ect..)
im upgrading to a 12 bolt rearend with a posi 373 gears
headers to dual 2.5" 40 series flowmaster dumped at rear

im wanting to know if the 202 heads would work good with this set up or if you recommend some that would work better that are some what for a good price. as far as i know these heads are stock.
and what would you roughly est hp at?

Ran the same combo as your up grade. Then switched to 23 degree trick flow heads and dropped ONE
second in the quarter- 12.80. The next year we went to a mech. lifter cam 0f .570 lift and dropped
another Second - 11.80. Alum. heads make all the difference!

I wouldnt worry so much about aluminum or cast in your set up. Just get some heads that FLOW. Probably get some iron heads in the 205cc range that will work good for around $700....

And ditch the strip dominator intake, if you stay with the hydraulic, an RPM air gap or similar would be a better choice, IMO...
