 Post subject: bogging out

Well, im not sure if its just because its carbureted but whenever i go to accelerate it kinda boggs out, could to much air flow cause this? also could it be like a flooding issue? im not really sure on this topic because im not really knowledged on carbs. help?

Could be the diaphragm in the vaccum secondary. It may be torn and when you accelerate hard, instead of metering the gas in, it dumps it in all at one time causing the carb to bog or stall, then when you let off the accelerator, it evens out.
Mine was doing the same thing, but no carb rebiuld kit that I could find contains that part, so your only choice is a reman or a Weber. I would go with the Weber.

I replaced the points last winter, and did the timing aswell i dont think thats the problem.

well i have a holly carb on my truck, but im wanting to get a 32/36 weber carb for it. Its just a bit pricey =/. there's a guy here seeling one for $100 so im trying to get the money. would there be any mods that i will have to do? all i know is that there's an adaptor plate

Having problem with mine bogging out too but only over 50 mph. Did you end up switching to the weber carb? If so did your problem go away?
