Is this a Carb?
What do the wires control?
It is on a 2.3l motor which the guy stated it was out of 1994 isuzu truck
Will a 1980 1.8 luv carb fit on it so I can get rid of alot of the hoses and wires?
Is there a place I can get a manual for this motor?
Need help wiring the coil.
Not sure how it all wires up.
this is my first motor swap never and it is a different motor. I am in over my head.

That is the carb and the wires could be for the coaster richer solenoid(s) and choke. We need to know a bit more for better help such as, the year of your truck. This will help us track down the correct wiring and hose diagram which had some differences almost year to year. You could find a manual on the 1994 Isuzu truck which will include a breakdown and rebuild of the engine. Be sure to get the correct book (Pup maybe) for the model of the truck it was taken out of. I'm sure others will chime in on what other vehicles that engine was in. Anyone else?

the guy I got the motor and trans from stated you got the motor from a friend of his. Motor came out of a truck about 1994 he called a pup. I believe 94 had throttle bodies and were not called pups. Makes me wonder the real story regarding the history of the motor. I can tell it is a 2.3 castings on the motor 4zd1. I have asked if there is a way to check year. I have told there is not a way. Next step is to look at the #s on the carb and intake to see if there is any VIN or part number that will give me a year. I have gotten really over my head. any help I would be thankful for.

If this helps, I got the motor and 5 speed trans together, trans is cable clutch.

I hooked up my old generator on onto the new motor to save a wiring headache. I also got the starter wired up. My big problem is coil and carb.
