Thanks, It is one of those combos that everything just kinda fell into place for us. The short block was put together in 1988 and sat in a corner after it made a few laps around a dirt track. Heads are also mid-80's brodix, old but has had some work. All we done was check the bearings and put it back together. Its got a cam that is way too big, combustion chamber to small and compression that is @ about 15:1. All of this makes it a pain to get tuned right, its got a very small tuning window with NOS as with the timing and fuel. But when its right it runs pretty good, when the tune is not right it will hardly go down the track. Thanks for the complements.

Jeramy, crappy phone video at night under the lights realllly help it out

Thanks Myt, That race in march started out as bad as any race I have ever had. The carb got trash in it had to do take it off and clean(no big deal) , Left rear slick started leaking at a pretty fast rate(no big deal took the air tank to the lanes with us), Timing jumped some how(no big deal just would not leave the line re set it), went to change spark plugs and pulled the heli coil out of #7 spark plug hole and it broke coming out(BIG DEAL!!!). This is why we were not in the big group picture, we were tring to get a heli coil put back in the head. The list goes on from there but those are things just with the truck.

But it ended pretty well! 8)

What kinda Rs are you turning at the strip. 110mph in 6.1 secs. I'm guessing it's on the rev limiter.

Ive got a 7400 chip in high side and it touchs it right at the line. Funny thing is my tach says 7200.

Usually it will start cutting out a few hundred rpm before the chip. If it waited until 7400 it would be too late. What gears you running, reason I ask is a 6.1 will usually get you well past 110 mph.

5:1? gears. In the 6.0 index classes we have at our track, most of the MPHs are 112 to 114 in the 1/8th.

Text book case of why quick is better than fast. Congrats on your low 6's
