First of all I just want to say thanks for all of the information here on this forum. I started out just doing a head gasket and that lead to a weber 32/34 (craigslist for $75), porting the intake, a Delta cam, new timing chain (plastic on tensioner broke), MSD 6A, and my buddy put a washer spacer in the oil pump to raise the oil pressure.

So this thing runs SO much better. Great power... actually idles... The only problem I have is when I get on it, it starts choking out by the middle of third gear. If I take it easy its fine.

I have a fuel pressure regulator set at 3.5 PSI. I have a Posi-Flo fuel pump rated at 4-7 psi and 32 gallons per hour.I checked the flow but I only get 10 GPH when I checked it. I think this is too little??

What is the minimum fuel flow I need? I saw some guys were recommending pumps rated at 75 GPH.

Thanks for the help!

Chris

I would try turning the regulator up before I replaced the pump.

I turned the regulator all the way up at 5.5 psi. I measured 14 GPH when I checked the flow. I checked the fuel filter and blew back the fuel line to see if there was an obstruction. It is still cutting out like before.

Is there a fuel filter in the carb? I've never worked on webers before.

Check the carb float level.
Weber recommends 3psi, you might try lowering the regulator pressure, can't hurt.

The only filter I can see is the large one that is under the truck. Where is the second one?

I hope my truck never uses 10 gallons in an hour! I would guess that it is your float or the needle valve on the carb is partially plugged and or sticking. It may also be why it was only 75 bucks.
