Just wanted to share some pictures. Although this is little progress. It does feel good to get some work done. The engine is next. The offenhauser intake (that I got from Mokadeth) and the new weber carb are going in soon.

ImageI dont have a before picture of my dash tray but it looks pretty good after sanding off the surface rust and a couple od coats of Duplicolor spray bedliner.

ImageHere is the bumper right after I pulled it off
ImageAfter some elbow grease and some 0000 steel wool

Looks good. Did you use that bed liner stuff for the floor?

Yes, I used the Duplicolor bedliner spray inside the cab. My plan is to put down a carpet also. I hope to have some pictures up soon.

Image The day it came home.
Image How it looks today. Still some mechanical work to clean up before the new paint goes on. Going to go with roll on bedliner for the bed. Getting quotes for the upholstry, not something I want to try and tackle.

Image The offy is finally in. I picked it up from Moka a couple of years ago. Feels good to have it in.
Image Yesterday the New weber Carb went in. Also new radiator. Some new hoses. Next its time for some engine compartment cleaning. My neighbor is very handy with the welder. He built the throttle cable bracket. As many of you know and I learned along the way and after reading many posts on here the hitachi bracket and the Weber bracket that come with the new carbs do not work.

I'm curious about your decision to go with the roll on bedliner? Your spray on looks great on the cab floor.

I just recently finished my cab floor using the roll on Herculiner kit and it does not look as uniform as yours. I have decided that I would go with a spray on for the bed when the time comes.

Here's a picture of the Herculiner for reference.

I see what you are saying. I have heard that the roll on is hard to keep uniform. I was going to use it because it goes on a lot thicker and fills in better. My bed is full of rust/dents and I was not sure if I wanted to do the prep work and then use the spray on. So I was going to have the bed done professionally. I have been quoted $450 to have it done professionally, so maybe I will try to do it myself with a lot of prepwork and spray on type.
Image The Duplicolor spray does go on uniform. I do like it. Just now sure it is durable enough for the bed?

I used the duplicolor roll on kit on my dads ranchero, as long as you keep it wet (thick) it ended up perfectly uniform. But I would recomend to fill in the dents (you can see them in the front of the bed in the pic)

I dont have any close up pics of it.

Are they going to fix-remove the rust? Does it have holes in the bed? Some think sealing the rust will stop it as the air can not get to it. But what about rust that goes through the bed? I am not trying to discourage you. Just a old VW guy asking you these questions? Most all air cooled VW have rust.

Next Jeep I own will have bed liner sprayed in it.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.

Glad you got the Offy in, that looks real nice! I bet it would look even more spiffy if you got it polished before installing it, but it still looks pretty nice in there!
