I need to recover or reupholster my bench seat. I am leaning toward a professional reupholstery job because that would include the foam filling. Does anyone have any experience or advice? What should I expect to pay?

I have done a simple, functional job myself. I bought some heavy fabric, folded the corners to miter them and used hog rings to fasten it to the springs much like the original. I did move the chrome square thing to the new fabric. I did repair a large hole in the foam of the drivers seat by cutting layer after layer of carpet padding to the shape of the hole for each layer. Our one dog had eaten some of the foam.

I am sure a professional would make a much nicer job, but prices would vary. I would get a couple of quotes.

I was quoted $300 on my seat. For that price I went out and got 2 buckets seats and fabricated some brackets to make them work in the Luv. I only paid $150 for 2 nice used bucket seats.

I was quoted $250 to recover a bench and was going to repair springs in the seat also. I still haven't done it though.

The one in my '75 was done for $150, but I pulled it out and dropped it off at their shop.
