Pics of the suspension/axles? Are those toy axles? Why'd you decide to do rack and pinion steering? Whats gonna be your final tire size? What're you doing for brakes and driveshafts?

Sorry for all the questions, just curious. Looks good, can't wait to see it finished.

I'm laddered bar front and rear with coilovers rear is a 9", front is a toyota for there light weight and strength and alot of racers use them the only problem is gear selection so some are going with the dana 30 so they can get higher gears and when I say higher I mean 3.50 3.42 and so on for the faster tire speed up front. Tire size in the rear will be 38's and 39.5 cut boggers and the front will be 38's and 35 cut boggers it's all according to the pit I'm at. Rack-n-Pinion is lighter and very easy to set up and steers real good and I have stock Toyota brakes up front and going to try too put Samurai front disc brakes on the rear( same lug pattern as the sammy and the brake rotor is a seperate piece). Drive shafts will come from a chevy 4x4 that had the 208 trans case that I'll be using I'll just change the ends to what I want and still have the slip joints. Did most of the wiring and running the fuel lines yesterday and installed the fuel cell it's taking alot of time but I enjoy every bit of it.

You're gonna have to adjust the length of the shafts, aren't ya? So, I take it you're gonna be mud racing with it, not much else? I mean no offense, but I'm not sure how much abuse the rack and pinion would be able to take being on the front of the axle (rocks and junk bash stuff up).

So by ladder bars you mean radius arms? I guess you'll be running those and panhards on the front and back? Or no panhards at all?

And actually by brakes I meant brake lines more than anything, being as the fittings are different. Why everyone can't make fittings the same I have no clue...

I like what you're doin, that things gonna tear shit up.

PS. Those IFS brackets are a pain to get off, huh?

The brake lines should bolt straight up between the luv and the toyota stuff up front. The ladder bars are the same ones that go on the rear just turn them upside and weld them in, I'll try too take some pics this weekend of the front and you'll see what I have done. About the rack-n-pinion we don't hit any rock's or stomp's we run in a prepared mudd pit or track and you don't get any bump steer. Some of the guys run 220ft in 3.5 seconds on top of the mudd.

Sorry I haven't taken any pics lately got real busy this weekend. Finally got my motor back Friday and started putting it in and I can't say enough about Powerbyace motor mounts, They fit perfect and put the engine in the right place now if eveything else would fit like that it would be nice.

Sorry guys no pics yet, been working alot lately and what little time I've had things just haven't been going the way I want it. Motor is in just finished modifiying the headers and HAVING a heck of a time hooking up the steering shaft too the front end. Think I'll walk away from it for a few week's and get a clearer head.

Started back on it and making some progress after I got the steering put together I took the 4.38 third out to make room for a 3.54 third and found that the whole front needs rebuilding so all that's been done and the new third is in, The 3.54 gears are extremely hard to find for a toyota. Took the stock third out of the 9" and installed a full spool and it's back in and it has 3.50 gears, with those gears when I hit 6800rpm my rear tires should be spinning around 98 to 104 mph. Working on drive shafts today and that will be the last major stuff I hope then I can start wiring everything up. My wife has a hard time loading pics it only lets us do two at one time I'll take some today.
