 Post subject: flooding problem

so i have a 1976 luv and i recently rebuilt the carburetor but lately it has been flooding it self out and i cant figure out for the life of me, why? i rebuilt the carb about three months ago and it ran great until last week it just died and every time i try to start it, she runs for about 30 seconds then starts spraying fuel out the ventricle tubes in the carb and shuts off. any help or ideas of what to do about this would be awesome thanks.

Carefully pull the float valve and check and clean. I bet it has a small piece of debris in it.

I really think many carb problems relate to a stuck float valve. I finally put some plastic tubing spacers on the shaft of mine to keep it centered where it wouldn't stick.

This forum is fairly liberal, but if I said what I have said to it, I would be banned.

There should be a brass spacer on the float shaft to keep it centerd but they are small and people sometimes miss them and they don't get reinstalled.

Too much fuel pressure could blow the needle off the seat.On Quadrajets if you don't get the clip on just right the needle will hang up and flood the motor.
