this could get interesting!!!!!

It's gonna . Just got a call from the machine shop and he said 2 holes won't clean up at .030 and one won't clean up at .040 . I told him " sleeve'em all the spray will seal the rings " . Looks like 2 sleeves since i already spent $700 on pistons . Got the trans lined up it is a 73' truck th350 . It's gettin soft parts and a shift kit now . Bought the converter , 3200 with balloon plates . Doin a carb rebuild on the 750 Demon this weekend . Will be working on this thing all next week ( long change/ shift worker) to tie up loose ends . Friday will be "on the road/ lunch with friend / machinist " day so pics will follow . Got 2 Crawfish boils this weekend so monday i'll be at it full bore .

CT , by the time we get side by side you will know every part in and on this truck . Tell me 2 things . CID & Does it have a transbrake . If you have a transbrake we need a sportsman tree . If both on a foot brake any tree is fine .

Really feels good to be back . I know alot of you guys probably get tired of my long post about my junk , but i am having fun with it .

Not bored at all. At least one of us is working on something...

The yard i got the block from doesn't have anymore 4 bolts and they only exchange . I would have to drop back to a 2 bolt main . I made 484 with this top end on a 355 . I don't expect alot more HP , but more torque and the assembly should handle 800 HP . So close to 500 on motor and 250 more nitrous , i need a 4 bolt . My machinist ( a good friend and a high school buddy ) has assured me i will never know it is there and i have run his sleeves before with no problems .

Visual update for saturday .Sorry for the crappy pick of the block it was in the bore machine . Pics of the lightweight forged crank and JE pro series pistons .

Well they are super light and can handle the power levels i need . The dish is 16cc and my heads are 62 cc and the shape of the dish and chamber are almost identical . Plus we all know a dish piston and tight chamber have better flame travel than a dome stuck up in a big chamber or a flat top and a medium chamber . Chrysler put a plug in the middle of the sphere and created a legend . Also looking into splaying a 2 bolt 880 vortec block i have .

man your moving right along with the build sir!! you may have it out by summer time at this rate.

I already had the motor parts in the works . When i sold the Luv and the 396 sbc i started on this stuff . I'll only build a 383 or go aftermarket and big nch small block from now on . I have most of the stuff in a pile to build the truck . I just gotta find time to build it due to work , and working alot is a ggod thing these days .

Well i worked on the truck yesterday for a little while . the paint was in pretty bad shape so i started with a little buff work First pic is with half the hood done . Second is after i worked it with scratch out which is a deminishing compound . The roof in both these pictures is untouched to give you a comparison . I also remove the 2" blocks so it sets level . Fixing to hit it again today .

It's a 2900-3300 with ballon plates and rated for 800hp . I went through about 8 converters in the Luv and the 3000 was the best one i ever had . This is a street truck ya know
