I am going in on June 9th for lower back surgery and will be laid up for 3 months. So that means no racing for me but will get the daughter out a few times before. I am bummed about the racing part but if the pain goes away it will so worth it.

That sucks, but believe me after you get the surgery done you will feel so much better. I had 4 compressed vertebra in my lower back when i was still playing football (squat lifting), no surgery but i was out for 8weeks. Good luck

Best of luck, what kind of surgery are you having? I have a couple of artifical disc's.

Thanks. I am having a fusion on my bottom vertebrae. It is slipped forward pinching a nerve. They will pull it back and screw it in place and put some bone around it. I sure hope it works. Can't do nothing for 6 weeks and will be off work for 3 months. Right above that I have a torn disc too. It sure is hell getting old!!!

Look into a disc replacement, the healing time is better. Also when you fuse a disc the lower disc takes twice the amount of shock causing problems with it.

Here is what I have, the only problem I still have is major nerve issues because of walking around 3 years with 2 blown out discs.

Thanks, I will have to look into that. I think the bone is fractured and the vertebrae has slipped and it is at the very bottom of my spine.

I'm going to repeat a few others here and say that SUCKS for you man. As a fellow back pain sufferer with a screwed up T12-L1 disc I wish your surgery well. Keep us posted.

That must be pretty disappointing for you... Hopefully you can still get out to the track and watch.

I had back problems for several years back in the 80's. I got so used to sleeping on the floor that it became a bad habit. My wife shakes her head at me when I toss and turn, then finally get out of bed, get on the floor and fall right asleep. To this day I prefer the floor!
